When you are developing a learning platform, the best encouragement comes from the students. Here are few encouraging moments for us:

40 students are using Cratoo as their after-school program under the SUN program in one of Portland’s middle school. ( We will publish their success stories at the end of summer). On the 5th week, we got a call from their coordinator saying

“Something strange happened today! 5 of my students came forward and asked if they can keep doing Cratoo instead of going out and play! I have never seen this kind of interest in math before”.

What else can we ask for? This is what keeps us motivated.

Some of our elementary students have access to other learning platforms thru their school. They have to work on those platforms as part of their homework. When we asked them to compare Cratoo against those platforms, this is what they said –

” Cratoo is so easy to understand. The other platforms do not explain and give us too many practice problems without explanation.”

This is one of the reasons why we have created Cratoo. Instant feedback is the key to learn and build confidence. Like learning a new musical instrument or sports.

Few students from Seattle area are using Cratoo for almost 6 months now. They were already at the grade level in mathematics. This is what one of the 3rd graders wrote to us:

“Thank you for making math so easy. I am working on Grade 5 now.”

Taking easy examples from everyday activities is one of our fundamental approaches. We are so encouraged to do even better just by these 2 sentences!
